Acknowledge Message

The Acknowledge Message object acknowledges messages in OpenView Operations signifying that a message has been addressed. Once acknowledged, a message will not be visible in the OpenView Operations console. You can also use the Acknowledge Message operator to unacknowledged a message.

How it is used

The Acknowledge Message object can be used to close an OpenView Operations message after a Policy has performed diagnostics and determined that the message is a false positive.

Configuration

To configure the Acknowledge Message object you need to know the message that you are acknowledging.

ID Number	Type the ID of the message that you are updating. Opalis Software, Inc. recommends that you use Published Data from the Create Message, Acknowledge Message, Own/Disown Message, Get Message, Add Annotation to Message, Update Message, or Monitor Message objectss to specify the ID of the message.
Acknowledge	Select to acknowledge the message and remove it from the OpenView Operations console.
Unacknowledge	Select to unacknowledged the message return it to the OpenView Operations console.

Available Published Data

 

Name	Description
Message Id	The Id of the message that was updated.
Acknowledge type	The acknowledgement action that was performed on the message. The value of this Published Data will be ‘Acknowledge’ or ‘Unacknowledge’.
OVO Operator	The name of the OVO Operator user account that was used to update the message.
OVO server	The name of the OpenView Operations server where the message is stored.
