Creating connections for the HP Service Manager
Before you can use the objects in this Integration Pack, you must create a connection to each HP Service Manager system that you will be targeting with the Integration Pack. Then, when you use an object, you select the connection that you want that object to use from the Connection field in the object. Before creating connections to HP Service Manager, make sure that you have collected all information about the HP Service Manager system that is required. see Preparing to connect to HP Service Manager.
To create connections for the HP Service Manager:
1.
Before adding or modifying a connection, you must stop all policies that contain Opalis Integration Pack for HP Service Manager 7 objects.
1.
In the Opalis Integration Server Client, click the Options menu and select HP Service Manager. The HP Service Manager options dialog appears.

Click Add. The Connection Entry dialog appears.
3.
Select 6.2 or 7.0 to choose the version of HP Service Manager that you will be connecting to.
4.
In the Name field, type a name for the connection.
5.
In the Server field, type the name of the server that hosts the HP Service Manager instance to which you want to connect.

In the Port field, type the port used to connect to the HP Service Manager System. This port number is usually the same port number used to connect with HP Service Manager client.
7.
In the ODBC Driver field, type the DSN of the ODBC connection that you created to the HP Service Manager database.
8.
In the DB Username field, type the username that will be used to connect to the HP Service Manager database.
9.
In the DB Password field, type the password associated with the DB Username that you specified.
10.
In the Username field, type the username that will connect to the HP Service Manager system. This is usually the same username that you can use with the HP Service Manager client.
Note: When using HP Service Manager 6.2, the user must be configured to use the GMT timezone.

In the Password field, type the password associated with the Username that you specified.
12.
If you require a web proxy server to connect to the internet then enter the URL, Username, Password, and Domain for that proxy. Leave these fields blank if you do not require a proxy.
13.
You can click the Test Connection button to test that all the settings that you have entered is correct.

Click OK. The HP Service Manager options dialog appears. The connection that you created appears in the list.
15.
Click Refresh Field Cache. You MUST click the Refresh Field Cache button whenever you are creating a new connection or the fields in the database have changed.
Note: An internet connection is required to refresh the field cache.
16.
Click Finish.
17.
Restart any policies that you stopped before editing the connection information.
