Connecting to CA AutoSys
WA
Before you can use the objects in
this Integration Pack, you must create a connection to each CA
AutoSys WA instance that you want to use, and configure the
environment variables for those connections. Then, when you use an
object, you select the connection that you want that object to
use.
The environment variables in these
connections only exist when the objects in this Integration Pack
are running.
When to use credentials
The following table describes when
to use credentials, and considerations for using them.
Use Credentials
|
Do Not Use
Credentials
|
The objects in this Integration
Pack use the credentials that you supply.
|
The objects in this Integration
Pack use the credentials of the Action Server on which the Policy
that contains these objects is running.
|
To use the Use Credentials check box, you must be
running Opalis Integration Server on Microsoft Windows Server 2003
SP2.
You cannot use the Use Credentials check box if you are
running Opalis Integration Server on Microsoft Windows 2000.
|
You can uncheck the
Use Credentials check box
if you are running Opalis Integration Server on either Microsoft
Windows Server 2003 SP2, or Microsoft Windows 2000.
|
When running Policies that include
objects from this
Integration Pack, the Action Server that runs those Policies must have
super-user rights to
execute programs on the computer that runs the CA AutoSys WA
instance that the Policies connect
to.
|
If you do not use credentials,
all objects from this Integration Pack that you use within the same
Policy must point to the same CA AutoSys WA instance.
|
To create connections to
CA AutoSys WA:
1.
|
In the Opalis Integration Server
Client, click the Options
menu and select CA AutoSys.
The Settings dialog
appears.
|
2.
|
Click Add. The Connection dialog appears.
|
3.
|
In the Name field, type a name for the
connection.
|
4.
|
In the Credentials section of the dialog,
check the Use Credentials
check box to provide specific credentials that the objects in this
Integration Pack need to log in to the CA AutoSys WA instance. See
the table above for details. The following fields become
active:
|
•
|
User name – the username that you will
use to log in to the CA AutoSys WA instance.
|
•
|
Domain – the domain to which the
username belongs.
|
•
|
Password – the password associated with
the username.
|
You can only use one set of
credentials for each connection that you create.
If you uncheck the Use Credentials check box, the objects
in this Integration Pack will use the same credentials as those
used by the Action Server that runs the Policy that contains the
objects from this Integration Pack to access the CA AutoSys WA
instance. See the table above for details.

dialog, provide the values for each of the following fields:
