Get Device
The Get Device object retrieves the
information about devices managed by CA Spectrum according to
criteria that you specify.
How it is used
Use the Get Device object to
determine which to retrieve data about devices and then operate on
those devices based on information in your policies.
Configuration
To configure the Get Device object
you need to know the name of the connection to the CA Spectrum
server that you will use, and the search criteria for the device
that you want to retrieve.

Click the ellipsis button
(...) and browse for the CA
Spectrum connection that you want to use.

Filters
|
Create the criteria that you
will use to trigger this object when matching values are found.
Follow the instructions below.

Select Fields
|
Click to select the data that
will be device information that will be published when this object
executes.

To add a filter:
1.

Click Add. The Add Filter dialog appears.
|

|
From the Field drop-down list, select the field
that you want to search in.
|
3.
|
From the Relation drop-down list, select the
type of relation that you want to use in your search.
|
4.
|
In the Value field, type or select the value
that will be compared to the item that you selected from the
Field drop-down list and
click OK. The filter is
added to the list.

To edit or remove filters from
the list, click Edit or
Remove, respectively.

The name of the server
connection that you used.

Device ID
|
The ID of the device in the CA
Spectrum system.

Device count
|
The total number of devices
returned by the Get Device object.

Server
|
The name of the server where
the alarm that matched the criteria originated.

User
|
The name of the user account
that generated the alarm.
