Discover Element
The Discover Element object enables you to discover elements on an IP address that you specify.
How it is used
Use the Discover Element object to dynamically determine the elements that are on an IP address before generating an on-demand report.
Configuration
To configure the Discover Element object you need to know the IP address that contains the elements that you want to discover, the community string and mode where the elements are located, and the name of the group that you want to add the discovered elements to.
Details tab
 
Server
Click the ellipsis button (...) and browse for the CA eHealth connection that you want to use.
IP Address
Type the IP address that you want to discover elements on.
Community String
Type the SNMP community string that you need to access the elements on the IP address that you specified.
Mode
1.
Click the ellipsis button (...) to browse for the mode that you want to search in. The Select Modes dialog appears.

From the Available Modes list, select the modes that you want to search in and click >>. The modes appear in the Selected Modes list.

Click OK.
dci Rule
Type the path and filename of a dci rule file that is in the CA eHealth dci rule file format. For more information about dci rule file format, see the CA eHealth documentation.
Add to Group
Click the ellipsis button (...) and select the group that you want to assign the discovered elements to.

Description
SNMP Community String
The SNMP community string that you used to access the elements on the IP address that you specified.
Elements
The elements that were discovered by this object.
Group
The group that you assigned the discovered elements to.
IP Address
The IP address where you discovered elements.
Mode
The mode that you selected to discover elements in.
Results count
The number of elements that were discovered.
Connection
The name of the connection to the CA eHealth server that you used.
