Create Message
The Create Message object enables you to create a CA Unicenter NSM server message that includes fields that you specify.
How it is used
Use the Create Message object to create a message in CA Unicenter NSM to report a problem that an Opalis monitor object, such as the Monitor Service object, discovers a problem.
Configuration
To configure the Monitor Message object you need to know the name of the CA Unicenter NSM server, the username and password that you need to access that server, and the criteria that you will use to search for messages.

Computer
Click the ellipsis button (...) and browse for the CA Unicenter NSM server that you want to create the message on.
Fields
1.
Click the Select Fields button. The Add/Remove Property dialog appears.

From the Available list, select the fields that you want to include in the message that you are creating and click >>. The fields appear in the Selected list.
3.
Click OK to return to the Create Message Properties dialog.

Description
Udata
The value of the CA_UDATA environmental variable.
Keep
Indicates whether the Keep message flag is enabled or not.
Highlight
Indicates whether the Highlight message flag is enabled or not.
Invisible
Indicates whether the Invisible message flag is enabled or not.
LogOnly
Indicates whether the message will only be written to the log or not.
Server
The name of the CA Unicenter NSM server that you are monitoring for messages.
Color
The color assigned to this message in the CA Unicenter NSM client.
Attribute
The attribute assigned to this message in the CA Unicenter NSM client (blink, reverse, etc.).
MessageNumber
The relative position of the message from the beginning of the log file in CA Unicenter NSM.
Node
The node on which the message originated.
Severity
The severity level attached to the message.
Station
The workstation associated with the message.
Text
The text of the message.
Device
The IP address of the device that caused the event.
Category
The classification of the event that generated the message as defined by your enterprise.
Source
Identifies the facility where the message originated.
Tag
The platform from which the message originated.
