Connecting to BMC Event Manager
Before you can use the objects in the Opalis Integration Pack for BMC Event Manager, you must configure a connection to BMC Event Manager servers and event classes. Then, when you configure the objects, you select the connection and event class that you want to use for that object.
To add a BMC Event Manager connection:
1.
In the Opalis Integration Server Client, click the Options menu and select BMC Event Manager. The BMC Event Manager dialog appears and displays a list of all configured BMC Event Manager servers and events.
2.
In the BEM server list section of the dialog, click Add. The Add server dialog appears.
3.
In the Primary cell section of the dialog, provide the host, port, and password information in the fields for the primary cell that you want to connect to. In the Secondary cell section of the dialog, provide the host, port, and password information in the fields for the secondary cell that you want to connect to. Click Test connection to verify that the connection to the BMC Event Manager server is functional. Click OK when you have finished configuring the server connection. The server connection appears in the server list. Continue adding server connections as required.
4.
In the BEM event list section of the dialog, click Add. The Open dialog appears.
5.
Select the mcell.dir file that contains the event classes that you want to use and click OK. For information on formatting mcell.dir files, see the BMC Event Manager documentation.
6.
If you require a time-out limit, type the number in the Timeout field.
7.
Click Finish.
