Monitor Relationship
The Monitor Relationship object is
used to watch for new relationships between configuration items
that arrive, or for changes to existing relationships, according to
criteria that you specify.
How it is used
Use the Monitor Relationship object
to watch for a change in the attributes of an existing
relationship.
Configuration
To configure the Monitor
Relationship object, you will need to know the name of the BMC
Atrium CMDB connection and form name that you want to use, whether
the item you are monitoring for is a new relationship or a change
to an existing one, and the criteria that you want to use to find
the relationships that you are monitoring for.

Connection

Type the name of the connection
that you want to use, or click the ellipsis button (...) and browse for it. Select the
connection from the Item
Selection dialog.

Form
|
Type the name of the BMC Atrium
CMDB form that contains the fields that you want to monitor, or
click the ellipsis button (...) and browse for it. Select the form
name from the Form
Selection dialog.

Trigger
|
You must select one of the following options:

New records – Select this option if you
want the object to monitor for a new relationship.
|
•
|
Updated records – Select this option if
you want the object to monitor for a change in an existing
relationship.
|
|
Select Published Data
|
To select the fields that will be
published by this object as Published Data items, click the Select Published Data
button. Select the
fields that you want to use from
the Available fields
list, and click >> to move them to the Selected fields
list.

Filters
|
Configure the criteria for requests
that you want the object to watch. See below for instructions on
configuring the filter criteria.

To add a filter:
1.

Click Add. The Select Filter dialog appears.
|

|
From the Field drop-down list, select the form
field that you want to search in.
|
3.
|
From the Relation drop-down list, select the
relation that you will use to compare for your search.
|
4.
|
In the Value field, type the value that you
will search for in the field that you selected, or click the
ellipsis button (...) and
browse for it.
|
5.
|
Click OK. The filter appears in the
list.
|
6.
|
To edit the filter, select it
and click Edit. To remove
the filter, select it and click Remove.
|
Note: If you configure a filter to
search in a Diary field in BMC Atrium CMDB, the filter not only
searches the contents of the Diary field, it also searches the name
of the submitter.
Available Published Data
You select the BMC Atrium CMDB
fields that will be published as Published Data items by this
object by clicking the Select
Published Data button. This prevents overloading of the
Opalis Datastore. See above for instructions. The following table
lists the Published Data items that this object always generates,
no matter which fields you select.
