Acknowledge Event

The Acknowledge Event object will modify the status of an existing Tivoli Enterprise Console event to ‘ACK’ and assign it to an operator.

You can also use the Update Event to acknowledge events.

How it is used

Use the Acknowledge Event object to bring an event to the attention of one of your staff members.

Configuration

To configure the Acknowledge Event object you need to know the event's reception ID and handle, the server handle, and the name of the operator that you are assigning the event to.

Server	Click the ellipsis button (...) and select a Tivoli Enterprise Console server from the list.
Reception ID	Type the reception ID of the event you are updating. Opalis Software Inc. recommends that you insert a Published Data item from another object to specify this value.
Event handle	Type the event handle of the event you are updating. Opalis Software Inc. recommends that you insert a Published Data item from another object to specify this value.
Server handle	Type the server handle of the event you are updating. Opalis Software Inc. recommends that you insert a Published Data item from another object to specify this value.
Assign to	Type the name of the operator that you are assigning this event to.

Class	The class of the event.
Severity	The severity of the event.
Status	The status of the event.
Message	The event description.
Last modification time	The last time that the event was modified.
Source	The location where the event was created.
Server handle	The ID of the server where the event is located. This value, combined with the Event handle and Reception ID, uniquely identifies a Tivoli Enterprise Console event.
Reception date	The date that the event was received.
Reception ID	The reception ID of the event. This value, combined with the Server handle and Event handle, uniquely identifies a Tivoli Enterprise Console event.
Event handle	The handle of the event. This value, combined with the Server handle and Reception ID, uniquely identifies a Tivoli Enterprise Console event.
Sub-source	Additional information about the source of the event.
Origin	The IP address where the event occurred.
Sub-origin	Additional details about the origin of the event.
Hostname	The name of the computer where the event occurred.
Adapter host	The hostname of the adapter where the event occurred.
Event date	The date that the event was created.
Administrator	The administrator that updated the event.
ACL	The list of user roles that are allowed to modify the event.
Credibility	The method that was used to send the event.
Message catalog	The message catalog of the event.
Message index	The message index of the event.
Duration	The amount of time that the event was open before it was closed.
Number of actions	The number of tracked actions that were taken on this event.
Repeat count	The number of duplicates of this event.
Causing event date reception	The date that the event that caused this event was received.
Causing event handle	The handle of the causing event.
