Connecting to the HP OpenView
Service Desk Server
The Integration Pack for HP OpenView
Operations Service Desk provides a single location to specify the
connection information to your HP OpenView Operations Service Desk
server. Any Policy running on the Action Server that you have
configured uses the same connection information to communicate with
the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk server.
To connect to the HP
OpenView Operations Service Desk server:
1.
|
In the Opalis Integration Server
Client, click the Options
menu then click HP OpenView
Operations Service Desk
menu. The HP OpenView Operations
Service Desk Settings dialog appears.
|
2.
|
In the Computer field, type the name of the
computer that is running the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk
server.
|
3.
|
In the Port field, type the port that is used
to communicate with the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk server.
The default value is 30999.
|
4.
|
In the User Name field, type the user that you
will use to log into the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk
server. It is important that the user has the rights to create,
modify, and close HP OpenView Operations Service Desk incidents and
service calls.
|
5.
|
In the Password field, type the password that
is associated with User name that you specified.
|
6.
|
To test the connection that you
configured, click Test
Connection.
|
To use the Integration Pack for HP
OpenView Operations Service Desk objects, the user that you
specified must have View,
Modify, and New permissions selected for incidents
and service calls on the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk
server.
Some fields may require specific
permissions to allow the objects to create, update, close, monitor,
and get incidents or service calls. Assign the specified user
View and Modify permissions for any field that
is being used by the Integration Pack for HP OpenView Operations
Service Desk objects.
Refreshing the Field Cache
The Client keeps a list of each of
the fields available in HP OpenView Operations Service Desk on the
local computer. This list is called the field cache. If you modify
settings of the fields on the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk
server you must refresh the field cache to view those changes in
the Client.
To refresh the field
cache:
1.
|
Open the Opalis Integration Server
Client.
|
2.
|
Select the Options menu then click HP OpenView Operations Service Desk.
The HP OpenView Operations Service Desk
Settings dialog appears.
|
3.
|
Click Refresh field cache.
|
Note: All connection information for
the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk server must be properly
configured and the user defined must be an Administrator on the HP
OpenView Operations Service Desk computer before refreshing the
field cache.
