Monitor Service Call
The Monitor Service Call object monitors HP OpenView Operations Service Desk for new or updated service calls according to filter criteria that you specify.
How it is used
Use the Monitor Service Call object to trigger a Policy that automatically provisions a new computer when it is requested from a service call.
Configuration
To configure the Monitor Service Call object you need to know the details of the service calls that will trigger the Policy.

Trigger
New Service Calls – trigger the Monitor Service Call object when new service calls that match the filters that you specify are created.
Updated Service Calls – trigger the Monitor Service Call object when any existing service calls that match the filters that you specify are modified.
Filters
The list shows all the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk service call filters that you have configured. To edit or remove a filter, select the item and click Edit or Remove respectively. To add a filter, see the instructions below.
To add a filter:
1.
Click Add. The Edit Filter dialog appears.
2.
In the Field field, type the name of the field that you want to filter against, or click the ellipsis () button to browse for it.
3.
From the Relation drop-down list, select the relation that you will use to compare the value of the field to the value that you will specify in the next step.
4.
In the Value field, type the value that you will compare to the value that you typed in the Field field and click OK. The filter is added to the list. Do not use quotation marks (") when entering the value.
Note: When you specify a filter that uses the "Equals" relation, you cannot use any other filters for that field, nor add a filter using the "Equals" relation if you have already specified filters for that field.
Available Published Data
The common fields that are used as part of an HP OpenView Operations Service Desk service call are available as Published Data. The names of the Published Data items for each field reflect the names of each of the fields in the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk client.
 
Name
Description
Service calls count
The number of service calls that were found.
Login server
The name of the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk computer.
Login port
The port number used to communicate with the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk server.
Login username
The name of the user used to log in to the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk server.
Service call Actual finish
The time that the service call finished.
Service call Closure code
The closure code assigned to the service call.
Service call Description
The description of the service call.
Service call ID
The ID of the service call.
Service call Status
The status of the service call.
