Monitor Incident
The Monitor Incident object monitors HP OpenView Operations Service Desk for new or updated incidents according to filter criteria that you specify.
How it is used
Use the Monitor Incident object to trigger a Policy that automatically performs level 1 diagnostics based on an incident that appears in HP OpenView Operations Service Desk.
Configuration
To configure the Monitor Incident object you need to know the details of the incidents that trigger the Policy.
General tab
 
Trigger
Select New Incidents to trigger the Monitor Incident object when new incidents that match the filters that you specify are created. Select Updated Incidents to trigger the Monitor Incident object when any existing incidents that match the filters that you specify are modified.
Filters
The list shows all the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk incident filters that you have configured. To edit or remove a filter, select the item and click Edit or Remove respectively. To add a filter, see the instructions below.
To add a filter:
1.
Click Add. The Edit Filter dialog appears.
2.
Type the name of the Field that you want to filter against. Use the ellipsis () button to browse for the field.
3.
Select the Relation that you will use to compare the value of the field to the Value that you will specify.
4.
Type the Value that you will compare to the value of the Field that you have specified and click OK. The filter is added to the list. Do not use quotation marks (") when entering the Value.
Note: When you specify a filter that uses the "Equals" relation, you cannot use any other filters for that field, nor add a filter with the "Equals" relation if you have already specified filters for that field.
Available Published Data
The common fields that are used as part of an HP OpenView Operations Service Desk incident are available as Published Data. The names of the Published Data items for each field reflect the names of each of the fields in the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk client.
 
Name
Description
Incidents count
The number of incidents that were found.
Login server
The name of the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk server computer.
Login port
The port number used to communicate with the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk server.
Login username
The name of the user used to login to the HP OpenView Operations Service Desk server.
Incident Actual finish
The time that the incident was finished.
Incident Closure code
The closure code assigned to the incident.
Incident Description
The description of the incident.
Incident ID
The ID of the incident.
Incident Impact
The impact of the incident.
Incident Status
The status of the incident.
