Working with XML requests

Microsoft Provisioning System provides non-provider namespaces that contain high-level procedures for provisioning Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server, and Internet Information Services (IIS).

You can create XML requests that invoke these procedures to perform provisioning tasks. When you create XML requests that conform to the Microsoft Provisioning Framework (MPF) and structures implemented in the non-provider namespaces available in Microsoft Provisioning System, you can submit requests to MPF by using either the command-line interface or the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) Internet Server Application Programming Interface (ISAPI).
