Securing the network and infrastructure for provisioning

In order to provide effective security for Microsoft Provisioning System, you must first ensure that the network infrastructure in which it is being deployed has the appropriate security. At a minimum, this requires verifying that the network is physically secure from attack and that the firewall has been appropriately configured to prevent unauthorized external access to core components.

Because you are using Windows 2000 as the platform for your provisioning system, you can take advantage of the procedures and best practices system administrators use to secure their Windows 2000-based servers and maintain secure operations.
