File Restore recovers files that have been deleted from FAT, FAT32 and NTFS volumes. File Restore recovers files that have been removed from the Recycle Bin and recovers files that might have bypassed the Recycle Bin because they were deleted by using the Command Prompt, by using a networked application, or by uninstalling an application.

File Restore runs on Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003. File Restore recovers files from local drives only. Because File Restore provides access to all deleted files on a system, you must have Administrator privileges to run it.
