Trace Files

A trace file is a file that represents a snapshot of real-time trace events.  At any time you can save the contents of the TraceView tree to a trace file for later use.  When you open a trace file with TraceView, TraceView stops real-time tracing if real-time tracing has been started.  Trace files are interoperable with TraceView and the MPF Profiler.  That is, TraceView can open trace files created by the MPF Profiler, and the MPF Profiler can open trace files created by TraceView.

To see how to start, stop or pause real-time tracing in TraceView, see Controlling Real-time Tracing.
