This section introduces the prerequisites for deploying the Well-Enabled Services (WES) Generator available in this kit. In order to be able to use the WES Generator, you must deploy it on a system that has been configured as a Microsoft Provisioning System (MPS) client.

Following is a list of the items you will need to have installed on the computer you use to write applications:

• Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2
• Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 RTM

You need access to the following in your development environment in order to use the WES Generator if you do not want to deploy the solution completely:

• Access to an instance of MPS from the The Microsoft Solution for Windows-based Hosting version 4.0 or the Microsoft Solution for Hosted Messaging and Collaboration version 3.5
• A domain controller that you have administrative access to (can be a server running Microsoft Virtual Server)
• A server running the service you are creating a provider for, and which you can use to try out your provider (can be a server running Virtual Server)
