Processing Rule Properties, Parameter Storage Tab

Microsoft Operations Manager 2000 always collects and processes event parameters. This tab allows you to specify the event parameters that you want this processing rule to store in the database. Event parameters are event properties, and vary depending on the event. Storing the parameters is necessary only if you want to create custom reports or database queries using the parameters. This tab is available only for collection rules. The fields are defined as follows:

Store all event parameters
Specifies that this processing rule collects all event parameters and stores them in the database.
Store these event parameters
Specifies that this processing rule stores in the database only the parameters specified by number. For example, security event ID 528 properties show that User Name is Parameter1 and Workstation Name is Parameter7. To specify that this processing rule collect only the User Name and Workstation Name parameters for the event, enter 1, 7. Use a hyphen (-) to specify a number range (such as 5-8), and a comma (,) to separate numbers.
Store no event parameters
Specifies that this processing rule stores no event parameters in the database. This option is appropriate for most environments. Storing event parameters unnecessarily may adversely affect database performance.
