Creating a View

A view displays specific information from the database. You can create the following types of views:

To create a view:

  1. Expand Microsoft Operations Manager (default) in the left pane.
  2. Click Monitor in the left pane.
  3. Click Action on the menu bar.
  4. Click New on the Action menu.
  5. Click one of the following view types:
  6. Computer Group View Displays information about computers in a computer group, such as all computers running Microsoft SQL Server.
    Computer View Displays information about specified computers in the configuration group.
    Alert View Displays alerts that meet specified criteria from computers in the configuration group.
    Event View Displays events that meet specified criteria from computers in the configuration group.
    Computer Performance View Displays the number of counters sampled for specified computers in the configuration group.
    Performance Data View Displays sampled numeric data that meets specified criteria from computers in the configuration group.
    Attribute View Displays computer attributes that meet specified criteria.
  7. Follow the instructions until you finish creating a view. For more information about the fields on a window, click Help.
  8. In the left pane, click the view you just created.
