If your report is not being generated, check these troubleshooting tips:
No computer matches report category:
For instance, no Exchange servers are being monitored by MOM for
Exchange reports, or no domain controllers are being monitored for
Active Directory reports.
Additional configuration needed:
Some reporting rules require additional configuration for data
collection. These include some Active Directory reports, Exchange
reports, IIS reports and disk performance and capacity planning
reports. Refer to Management Pack Module Configuration
Guide.pdf, located on the Microsoft Operations
Manager 2000 product CD, for detailed configuration steps.
Rules are not enabled:
By default, rules for some reports are disabled. These include WTS
reports, IIS operations reports, and Active Directory auditing
reports.
To generate these reports, enable the corresponding reporting data collection rules.
Sampling interval of rule is too large:
For some reports, the sampling interval for the performance counter
may be too large to collect meaningful data on short-duration
activity. Examples of such reports are SQL Server replication
performance analysis reports and IIS FTP / NNTP service connection
performance analysis reports.
To collect data for these reports that is meaningful in your environment, reduce the sampling interval for the corresponding performance processing rules.
Auditing not enabled:
Some auditing reports are not enabled because the data collected
for these reports can be extensive. For example, DAS auditing is
disabled by default and must be manually enabled before reports can
be generated. Check Management Pack Module Configuration
Guide.pdf for configuration steps to enable these reports.
Failure to generate scheduled reports
If you scheduled reports and these reports are not generated, look
for error event 1024 in the Windows NT event log from
Reporting source. This indicates that scheduled report
generation failed to generate the report and lists the reason for
the failure.
To schedule the report batch file, provide the username and password of a user to the Windows task scheduler. Make sure the user for report generation is a member of the OnePoinOp Reporting local user group on the computer where the reports are scheduled.
Secondary Axis Data Not Displayed
If you do not see the secondary axis in the following reports:
The secondary axis will not be displayed in the reports if the data for the secondary axis counters is not available.
Disk Capacity Planning Not Displayed
If you do not see the report for disk capacity planning or if you
do not see data for Windows 2000 computers in this report, you
may need to explicitly enable the corresponding performance counter
logical disk - % free space
. To enable, use
diskperf -y
. Please note that this performance counter
is enabled by default on Windows NT 4.0 computers.
