By default, any reports you save in HTML format are stored in
subdirectories of the Program Files\Microsoft Operations
Manager 2000\Event\Reports folder on the local computer. The
navigation file, Default.htm, that allows you to access the reports
you save in HTML format is also stored in this folder. You can use
the Default.htm file to quickly view a report on the local computer
without launching MOM Reporting. You can also change where these
files are stored. For more information, see Setting Options for Saving HTML
Reports.
You can also make HTML-formatted reports available through the
Web Console and the MOM Administrator Console. Simply save the
reports in HTML format to the Reports folder on the computer with
both the Web Console server and MOM Reporting installed. For more
information, see Making
Reports Available in the MOM Administrator Console and Web
Console.
To publish HTML reports:
Set the options for
saving HTML reports to identify the correct location to save
the generated reports. The folder you specify should have the
default MOM Reporting navigation and style files. By default, the
setup program installs these files in the Program Files\Microsoft
Operations Manager 2000\Event\Reports folder. If you specify
the Reports folder on the computer with both the Web Console server
and MOM Reporting installed, the published reports will be
available through the Web Console and the MOM Administrator
Console.
If you are publishing HTML reports to view outside the Web
Console or MOM Administrator Console, complete the following steps:
Grant Read permissions for the appropriate users on the folder
where you will publish the reports.
If the computer has Microsoft IIS installed, you can create a
virtual directory for the folder where the Default.htm file and the
other report files are stored. For more information about creating
a virtual directory, see the IIS documentation.
If the computer does not have IIS installed, you can
create a share for the folder where the Default.htm file and the
other report files are stored.
