Ensuring Reports Have the Data You Need

Before you generate a report, you may need to change some configuration settings to provide the report with the required data. For example, you must enable Windows 2000 auditing for Security reports to receive the required auditing data.

The Management Pack Module Configuration Guide (Management Pack Module Configuration Guide.pdf, located on the Microsoft Operations Manager 2000 product CD) provides configuration instructions for specific reports. This document is provided in the setup kit, and is copied to the MOM Administrator Console or MOM Reporting computer during installation, typically in the Program Files\Microsoft Operations Manager 2000\OnePoint\Doc directory.

Configuration information is also provided in the KnowledgeBase for each Management Pack module. If specific configuration steps are required for associated reports, the steps are provided in the KnowledgeBase and in the Management Pack Module Configuration Guide.

If you have multiple configuration groups (multiple databases), you may also need to select the data source for the database from which you want to view data. For more information, see Selecting a Data Source.
