Forcing Processing Rule Changes

When you create, edit, or delete processing rules, Microsoft Operations Manager 2000 (MOM) automatically ensures that these changes are sent to the Consolidator, depending on the Consolidator polling interval. Agents receive the changes from the Consolidator at the next heartbeat. We recommend that you allow MOM to automatically send the changes to the Consolidator. You can, however, send the changes to the Consolidator on demand.

To force processing rule changes to the Consolidator:

  1. Expand Microsoft Operations Manager (default) in the left pane.
  2. Click Rules in the left pane.
  3. Click Action on the menu bar.
  4. Click Force Configuration Changes Now on the Action menu.
  5. Click Close.
