Disabling a Processing Rule

You can disable a processing rule to temporarily stop it from being evaluated on monitored computers.

To disable a processing rule:

  1. Expand Microsoft Operations Manager (default) in the left pane.
  2. Expand Rules in the left pane.
  3. Expand Processing Rule Groups in the left pane.
  4. In the left pane, expand the processing rule group that contains the processing rule you want to disable.
  5. In the left pane, click the Event, Alert, or Performance Processing Rules folder that contains the processing rule you want to disable.
  6. In the right pane, click the processing rule you want to disable.
  7. Click Action on the menu bar.
  8. Click Properties on the Action menu.
  9. Clear the Enabled check box, and then click OK.
