Copying a Data Provider

You can copy a provider, paste it, and modify its properties to create a new provider. You can copy and paste a provider within the current Rules snap-in or into a Rules snap-in for another configuration group.

To copy a provider:

1. Expand Microsoft Operations Manager (default) in the left pane.
2. Expand Rules in the left pane.
3. Expand Advanced in the left pane.
4. Click Providers in the left pane.
5. In the right pane, click the data provider you want to copy.
6. Click Action on the menu bar.
7. Click Copy on the Action menu.
8. Click Providers in the left pane. You can paste a provider only into a Providers folder in a Rules snap-in.
9. Click Action on the menu bar.
10. Click Paste on the Action menu.
