Pasting Within the Console

If you copy items within a Microsoft Operations Manager 2000 snap-in, you can paste them only within similar-item folders. For example, in the Rules snap-in, you can paste event processing rules in the Event Processing Rules folder, but not within the Performance Processing Rules folder.

You cannot copy or paste processing rule groups or notification groups in the Rules snap-in.

Copying and pasting are not supported within the Configuration snap-in.

To paste an item:

1. After copying an item, click the folder in the left pane where you want to paste the item.
2. Click Action on the menu bar.
3. Click Paste on the Action menu.

   • If Paste is not available, you cannot paste the item you have copied into the selected folder. Click another folder.
