Creating a Computer Attribute

You can use attributes to group computers. For example, you can create an attribute that identifies computers running Windows 2000. You can then use the attribute to create a computer group.

To create a computer attribute:

  1. Expand Microsoft Operations Manager (default) in the left pane.
  2. Expand Rules in the left pane.
  3. Expand Advanced in the left pane.
  4. Click Computer Attributes in the left pane.
  5. Click Action on the menu bar.
  6. Click Create Registry-Based Computer Attribute on the Action menu.
  7. Follow the instructions until you finish creating a computer attribute. For more information about the fields on a window, click Help.
