Understanding Processing Rule Groups

Processing rules define how Microsoft Operations Manager 2000 collects, handles, and responds to information. Processing rule groups hold and categorize processing rules. For example, a processing rule group named Microsoft SQL Server contains processing rules related to Microsoft SQL Server. Grouping processing rules together allows you to associate more than one processing rule with a computer group.

Processing rule groups provided as part of Management Pack modules contain specific Microsoft Knowledge Base information that defines the purpose, features, and configuration of the processing rule group.
