Active Directory Operations Master Best Practices

This report summarizes the best practices of Active Directory Operations Masters. This report runs in a Windows 2000 environment only. The columns of this report are defined as follows:

Domain

Specifies the DNS name of the domain on which the Operations Master resides.

Operations Masters Information

Specifies whether the following best practices are employed:

• The Domain Naming Master resides on a global catalog server.
• The PCD Emulator and RID Masters reside on the same physical domain controller.
• The Infrastructure Master is not located on a global catalog server.

Practice Followed?

Specifies Yes or No for each best practice, depending upon whether or not the domain followed that practice.

Note

• Reports will not reflect configuration changes until Active Directory is replicated. The length of the delay depends on the replication interval.
