Understanding Graphs

MOM Reporting provides a number of reports that produce graphs. You can specify which type of graph to produce.

Bar Graphs
Bar graphs show comparisons of data categories over time. To help you compare data over time, categories are organized horizontally and values are organized vertically. Bar graphs work best with a limited number of data points on the X axis.
Bar (3D) Graphs
Bar (3D) graphs can lend a dramatic effect to standard bar graphs. These graphs work best with a limited number of data points on the X axis.
Line Graphs
Line graphs show trends in data over time.

You can also specify some properties for the graph:

Use smooth lines
Specifies whether the graphed lines are smoothed to reduce extreme values.
Y-axis range
Specifies the minimum and maximum values for the Y-axis of the graph.

This range can be adjusted to view values for points in a graph that are otherwise not visible on a report because of different scales for counters plotted.
