MOM Reporting Overview

Auditing user actions and resource usage tendencies are among the most important aspects of operations management. To allow you to review and report on these actions and tendencies, Microsoft Operations Manager 2000 (MOM) provides the MOM Reporting component. This component allows you to view, print, and save more than 100 reports. Microsoft Access allows you to customize these reports to meet your specific needs.

MOM Reporting uses Microsoft Access to produce reports from information in the MOM database. The MOM installation program allows you to install the run-time version of Microsoft Access. The run-time version of Access allows you to view, print, and save the reports.

The full version of Microsoft Access allows you to customize the reports to meet your specific needs. You can also use the full version of Access to create additional reports. Microsoft Access requires 32 megabytes (MB) of RAM in addition to other RAM requirements for your computer.

For best performance when running reports with large event databases, you should have at least 128 MB total RAM. You should also use a screen resolution of 800 × 600 or larger.

For descriptions of all reports that are available in Microsoft Operations Manager, refer to Report Descriptions in the Table of Contents of this Help file.
