My Views and Public Views

Custom and default views are saved in the MOM Administrator Console (.msc) file. Custom and default views are accessible to anyone using that particular MOM Administrator Console file. These views are not accessible from the Web Console.

You can create views that you can access from any MOM Administrator Console or Web Console in the configuration group. These views can be private or public.

Private views are accessible only by the user who created them, and are saved in the My Views folder. The user who created these views can access them from any MOM Administrator Console or Web Console. The Web Console provides some private views by default.

Public views are accessible by anyone, and are saved in the Public Views folder. Anyone accessing the configuration group database from a MOM Administrator Console or Web Console can access these views. Management Pack modules provide public views related to the specific application or environment monitored. The Web Console provides some public views by default.

You can create views within the My Views and Public Views folders, or you can create views and copy them into these folders. Moving a view into the My Views folder makes it a private view accessible through any MOM Administrator Console or Web Console in the configuration group. Moving a view into the Public Views folder publishes the view for other users to access through any MOM Administrator Console or Web Console in the configuration group.
