Pending Installations Window

Microsoft Operations Manager 2000 (MOM) tracks when an agent needs to be installed or removed, such as in the following instances:

• If you create a computer group
• If you change a computer grouping rule
• If you change a Managed Computers rule
• If a computer configuration changes so that it no longer matches a computer grouping rule or Managed Computers rule
• If a computer configuration changes so that it matches a computer grouping rule or Managed Computers rule

You can specify in the Global Settings window whether you want agents installed immediately when required or added to the Pending Installations window. The Pending Installations window lists the computers on which an agent installation or uninstallation process is pending. You can approve or cancel all pending actions, or approve or cancel them one at a time.

When you approve actions in the Pending Installations window, you can also choose to process them, and MOM installs or uninstalls the agent immediately. Otherwise, agents are installed at the next managed computer scan. Agents are uninstalled at the next managed computer scan after the Agent Manager uninstall delay period has expired.
