Understanding the Database

The database is part of the Data layer. The database is the central storage facility for events, alerts, performance data, rules, and scripts.

Microsoft Operations Manager 2000 (MOM) supports Microsoft SQL Server databases. The database consists of two files: the primary database, which contains tables, indices, views, and stored procedures, and the transaction log. The MOM Express setup installs MSDE, which supports up to 2 GB of data.
