The MDT DB is automatically upgraded from a previous version of BDD or MDT when you upgrade the deployment share. The upgrade process preserves any schema modification in the existing MDT DB when you upgrade to the new MDT DB.
If for some reason the existing MDT DB is not upgraded when you upgrade the deployment share, you can manually upgrade the MDT DB using the Upgrade-MDTDatabaseSchema Windows PowerShell cmdlet.
