MDT supports deployment of 64-bit versions of Windows operating systems that require the new GPT format, not the traditional master boot record partition table format. For more information about GPT format support in LTI, see the section, Review the Default Partition Configuration Created by MDT, in the MDT document Using the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit. The GPT partition format is only used by computers that use UEFI, which is described in the section, Support Deployment to Computers that Use the UEFI Standard.
Note Support for this feature in ZTI and UDI requires System Center 2012 Configuration Manager with SP1 Beta.
