An alternative is to use Configuration Manager 2012 or Configuration Manager 2007 R3 to distribute the App-V Desktop Client software to client computers. Configuration Manager provides full application management and can be used to upgrade and configure the App-V Desktop Client throughout the organization. Deploy the App-V Desktop Client similarly to deploying any other application.

Microsoft recommends using the AppVirtMgmtClient.sms package definition file that Configuration Manager provides to simplify the process of creating a software-distribution package for the App-V Desktop Client. The white paper, Virtual Application Management with Microsoft Application Virtualization 4.5 and System Center Configuration Manager 2007 R2, describes how to deploy the client by using the AppVirtMgmtClient.sms file.
