Connection Properties

You can use the Connection Properties page to customize some of the default settings that the MAP Toolkit uses to complete the inventory process. Currently, you can customize the following settings:

Note: If you want the wizard to use a different port, you can use the Create button to specify a different port number and the Remove button to delete entries. If there is more than one port listed, you can use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to prioritize the list.

·         SSH. The Inventory and Assessment Wizard uses the SSH protocol to inventory Linux and HP-UX computers. The default port for SSH is port 22.

·         VMware. You can use the VMware connection properties to update the default ports that the Inventory and Assessment Wizard uses to inventory VMware servers. The wizard uses ports 80 and 443 to inventory VMware computers. If you use SSL Certificates to validate your connection you can check the Validate SSL Certificate box.

·         Oracle. The Inventory and Assessment Wizard will query the Oracle database engine to provide more in-depth information regarding your Oracle database installation.  The wizard uses port 1521 to query the database.

·         PowerShell. You can use the PowerShell connection properties to update the ports that the Inventory and Assessment Wizard uses to connect to SCCM servers with Forefront Endpoint Protection components installed. The wizard uses ports 5985 and 5986 to connect, by default. If you use SSL Certificates to validate your connection you can check the Validate SSL Certificate box.
