During the Configuration Manager 2007 Inventory Tool for Microsoft Updates Setup, you specified your source for the Microsoft Update catalog either as a shared folder or as the Web. This choice is saved to a file named Download.ini in the PkgSource folder. If you want to change that source after installation, you must modify the Download.ini file to point to the new location.

To configure the synchronization host to use a new download source

  1. In the PkgSource folder, open the file Download.ini in a text editor. The PkgSource folder is under the destination Folder you selected during Setup, usually under \Program Files\Microsoft Updates Inventory Tool.

  2. In the “[Download1]” section, modify the Source= parameter to point to your desired location. For example, if you previously specified the Web and now you want to point to a shared folder, you would type \\<server>\<share>. If you previously specified a shared folder and now you want to get the catalog automatically from the Web, type http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=74689.
