Deploying HP Updates

HP updates delivered through the Updates Catalog conform to the Microsoft update format and are deployed using the standard Configuration Manager Deploy Software Updates Wizard. Follow and complete the wizard to configure update deployment.

1. Open the Computer Management>Software Updates>Update Repository>Updates>Hewlett-Packard ProLiant Servers>ProLiant Support Pack folder.
2. Highlight the update that you want to deploy, and then right-click and select Deploy Software Updates.
3. Enter a name for the update, and then click Next.

   

4. Select the Create a new deployment definition option, and then click Next. If you have previously saved a template, then you can use that existing template.

   

5. Select the collection for the software update deployment by using the Browse button. Click Next.

   

6. Specify whether to enable or suppress notification on your clients, and then specify the configured duration. Click Next.

   

7. Click Next.

   

8. You have the option to save the deployment properties as a template. Click Next.

   

9. Create a share on the SCCM server to place the HP Updates to deploy. For example, the folder HP-PSP as shown below. Create a new deployment package and add the share at the Package source field. Click Next.

   

10. Select a distribution point. Click Next.

    

11. Click Next.

    

12. Select the language for the software update files. By default, English is the language. Click Next.

    

13. Set the deployment schedule. Click Next.

    

14. Review the summary, and then click Next.

    

    

15. The Update Package is complete. You can track the status of the Package through the Package Status by searching for the deployment package name.
