It is helpful to consider where the ownership of service management functions (SMFs) from the Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) Process Model resides within particular role clusters of the MOF Team Model. For example, if change management is to work well within an organization, then the ownership of that process should be the responsibility of a team whose mission of service or quality goal is aligned with the successful outcome of that process. Notice that the Partner Role Cluster does not own any processes. This is because the Partner Role Cluster is specifically responsible for working with supplier or partner groups outside of IT operations to facilitate the delivery of services. However, problem management and infrastructure engineering are common touch points. The partner groups will often have their own processes for delivering services.
