This tool is used to retrieve ActiveSync Mailbox policy object when multiple SMTP domains are owned by the customer organization. After running this tool, the underlying name of ActiveSync Mailbox policy will be changed but most likely is not visible to customer. When exception occurs, the events will be stored in log file if specified.

Install the Mobile Policy Update Tool

Procedure UG.25: To install the mobile policy update tool

  1. Log on to MPS01 as a domain administrator.

  2. On MPS01, run UpdateMobilePolicy.msi from the Service Provisioning\MPS\Install folder on your solution media.

  3. Follow the wizard to complete the installation.

Run the Mobile Policy Update Tool

Procedure UG.26: To run the mobile policy update tool

  1. Log on to MPS01 as a domain administrator.

  2. Open a command prompt, and then change directory to the UpdateMobilePolicy installation directory (in default installation, C:\Program Files\Microsoft Hosting\Provisioning\UpdateMobilePolicy).

  3. Run the following command:

    UpdateMobilePolicies.exe –LogFile [fileName]

    where, the -LogFile parameter is to specify the name of the text file to store log events. If the parameter is not specified, no log events will be stored.
