Procedure UG.5: To install Windows Server 2003 SP2 and Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP1 on MPS SQL server nodes

Procedure UG.6: To install SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 onto the cluster

Procedure UG.7: To upgrade the provisioning engine servers

Procedure UG.8: To upgrade the provisioning Web server

1. Log on to MPS01 as a domain administrator.

2. Run DeploymentTool.msi from the Service Provisioning\DeploymentTool folder on your solution media.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the existing MPS Deployment Tool and then install the new MPS Deployment Tool.

1. On MPS01, open the MPS Deployment Tool. It will notify you that new versions of MPS Components are ready for deployment. This only happens on the first run.

2. On the File menu, select Save Installed Configuration. This will save the current deployed configuration settings.

3. Set each of the following components to be uninstalled:

   • Core Platform | Core MPF Install | Deployment Automation Namespace
     
   • Core Platform | Core MPF Install | Managed Helpers
     
   • Core Platform | Core MPF Install | MPF Core Namespaces | Computer Management Provider
     
   • Core Platform | Core MPF Install | MPF Core Namespaces | DNS Provider
     
   • Core Platform | Core MPF Install | MPF Core Namespaces | Hosted Sign-up Namespace
     
   • Core Platform | Core MPF Install | MPF Core Namespaces | IIS Provider
     
   • Core Platform | Core MPF Install | MPF Core Namespaces | Managed Active Directory
     
   • Core Platform | Core MPF Install | MPF Core Namespaces | Managed Hosting
     
   • Core Platform | Core MPF Install | MPF Core Namespaces | MPF Config

4. Set each of the following components to Not Installed in the Core Platform | Core MPF Install | MPF Core Namespaces.

   • Active Directory Provider
     
   • BlockModelRMO
     
   • Command Line Provider
     
   • CoreRMO
     
   • Error Provider
     
   • File System Provider
     
   • Preferred DC Active Directory Provider
     
   • Registry Provider
     
   • Scripting Provider
     
   • Windows Installer Provider
     

5. Set the Core Platform | Core MPF Install | MPF Engine Hotfix to the Verified Good state. This hotfix should have been deployed as a prerequisite.

6. Click Start Deployment to start the uninstall process.

7. After completion, select Restore Installed Configuration.

8. Click Start Deployment to install the items again.

9. After completion, run the following initialization procedures:

   • Hosted Active Directory | Initialize Hosted Active Directory
     
   • Hosted Exchange | Exchange Provisioning Configuration| Initialize
     
   • Hosting Platform | Hosted Plans Database | Initialize Managed Plans Database
     
   • Hosting Platform | Initialize Default Services | Initialize Active Directory for Hosting
     
   • Hosting Platform | Initialize Default Services| Initialize Namespace Security
     
   • SharePoint Services Hosting |Initialize Hosted SharePoint
     
   • SharePoint Services Hosting |SharePoint Initialize Namespace Security
     

   Optional Components:

   • Customer Directory Integration | Initialize Customer Directory Integration
     
   • Data Hosting | Initialize Data Hosting Resource Manager
     
   • Data Hosting | Initialize Managed Data Hosting Namespace Security
     
   • Web Hosting | Initialize Web Hosting Namespace Security
     
   • Web Hosting | Initialize Web Hosting Resource Manager
     

10. Click Start Deployment.

1. Log on to MPS01 as a domain administrator.

2. Open a command prompt, and then navigate to the Exchange 2007 SP1 32-bit installation files.

3. Run the following command:

   	Copy Code
   Setup /m:upgrade

4. After the upgrade is complete, restart the server.

5. Repeat this procedure on MPS02.

1. On DNS01, uninstall the old version of the MPS DNS client.

2. Install the new version by running DNSClient.msi from the Service Provisioning\MPS\Providers\DNS directory on the solution distribution media.

1. On COLLAB01, uninstall the old version of the Windows SharePoint Services Web Service.

2. Install the new version by running WindowsSharePointServicesWebService.msi from the Service Provisioning\MPS\Providers\AdminWebService directory on the solution distribution media.
