Prepare the Base Server

Install Windows Server 2008 (x64) on COLLAB01.

Enable Remote Desktop.

Join the Fabrikam domain.

Disable Windows Firewall.
Install IIS and ASP.NET
Procedure W08-DWSH.3: To install IIS and ASP.NET

On COLLAB01, open the Server Manager console.

Add the Web Server (IIS) role. Add the features required for Web Server (Windows Process Activation Service) when prompted.

In addition to the default web server roles, select ASP.NET application development.

Confirm your selections and start the installation.
Install .NET Framework 3.0 and
Windows PowerShell

On COLLAB01, open the Server Manager console.

Add the .NET Framework 3.0 Features and Windows PowerShell features. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
