System Center Operations Manager 2007 has the following general requirements:

  • Operations Manager must be installed in a domain environment based on Active Directory. Verify that Active Directory is in native mode.
    Note:
    The servers being monitored do not need to be members of an Active Directory domain. For more information on Active Directory, see Why Choose Centralized Management?.
  • System Center Operations Manager 2007 requires SQL Server 2005 Standard or Enterprise Edition with Service Pack 1 or Service Pack 2.
  • Performance and capacity are highly dependent on configuration and response-time requirements (events per second, alerts trapped, performance data captured, and so on), and the system design must reflect these requirements for the servers running Operations Manager and SQL Server.
