In this topic, you will deploy the Exchange 2007 SP1 Public Folder OAB server (EXMBXOAB01).
Note: |
---|
The Public Folder OAB Server is only required in order to provide traditional Public Folders as well as public folder-based Offline Address Book (OAB) downloads to down-level clients such as Outlook 2003 and earlier. If you do not plan to support pre-Outlook 2007 clients or public folders for your customers, you do not need to deploy this server role. You cannot use Local Continuous Replication or Clustered Continuous Replication servers to store Public Folder databases. The Exchange 2007 SP1 Public Folder OAB server is a standalone mailbox server. |
