Procedure W08-DWM.16: To install database components

Log on to OMSQL01 with the OMAdmin account credentials.

On your System Center Operations Manager 2007 installation media, run SetupOM.exe to open the System Center Operations Manager 2007 Setup wizard.

Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the installation. Ensure the following:
- On the Custom Setup page, set the Database
component to This component, and all dependant components, will
be installed on the local disk drive. All the other components
must be set to This component will not be available. Do not
change the installation directory.
- In the Configure SCOM Administrators box, select the
Global Security group (OMAdminAccts) that was created
earlier.
- On the SQL Server Database Instance page, select the SQL
Server database instance (OMSQL01).
- On the Database and Log File Options page, accept the
default value of OperationsManager for the SQL Database
Name.
- On the Custom Setup page, set the Database
component to This component, and all dependant components, will
be installed on the local disk drive. All the other components
must be set to This component will not be available. Do not
change the installation directory.

Complete the installation by applying Operations Manager Service Pack 1.

Open SQL Server Management Studio, expand the Databases folder, and confirm the existence of the OperationsManager database and that it is online.
