New Exchange ActiveSync Mailbox Policies in Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1

Exchange ActiveSync is a Microsoft Exchange synchronization protocol that is optimized to work together with high-latency and low-bandwidth networks. Exchange ActiveSync in Exchange Server 2007 SP1 includes the following improvements for administrators and end-users:

  • Exchange ActiveSync default mailbox policy
  • Enhanced Exchange ActiveSync mailbox policy settings
  • Remote Wipe Confirmation
  • Direct Push performance enhancements

Hosted Mobility 2007 and Managed Mobility 2007 are the namespaces used to manage mobility-related features. After subscribing to a mobility plan, customers can define custom ActiveSync mailbox policies to apply a common set of security settings to their hosted users.
