DNS is optional in the minimal service provisioning configuration. If you choose to use hosted DNS in your minimal service provisioning configuration, you will require an additional server for DNS, thus giving you a total of seven servers. The following figure illustrates the minimal service provisioning configuration with server roles in the hosted services network.
