Rule Name

The Microsoft Mail Submission Service encountered an exception when trying to load network topology information.

Explanation

This Error event indicates the Microsoft Exchange Mail Submission service encountered the specified exception error when it tried to load the Active Directory topology information.

This error typically occurs when the Microsoft Exchange server cannot locate an available domain controller.

User Action

To resolve this error, do one or more of the following:

  • Make sure that the Exchange server that logged this event can communicate with one or more domain controllers that are available in the organization.

  • Review the Application log and System log on your Exchange 2010 servers for related events. For example, events that occur immediately before and after this event may provide more information about the root cause of this error.

  • Review the Operations Console in Operations Manager for detailed information about the cause of this alert. For more information, see the "Introduction" section in this topic.

  • Resolve your issue by using self-support options, assisted support options, and other resources. You can access these resources from the Exchange Server Solutions Center.
